About Us

The Laxmi Foundation, is a registered trust and an NGO founded by Laxmi Agarwal, an acid attack survivor, and Dr. Navpreet Kaur. The foundation aims to provide support and assistance to other survivors of acid attacks, who have experienced the devastating effects of such brutal violence. Laxmi Agarwal's personal experience has inspired her to create a platform that offers hope and assistance to those who have no one else to turn to. Through their philanthropic endeavors, the Laxmi Foundation strives to be a beacon of hope for many survivors, offering them the support they need to rebuild their lives

Causes

The Laxmi Foundation aims to create a more inclusive and equitable society, where individuals have access to their rights, opportunities for growth, and a safe environment to thrive in.

Acid Attacks

The foundation runs a campaign called “Stop Sale Acid” with the aim of curbing the sale of acid, a toxic substance often used in attacks. This campaign also raises awareness about the challenges faced by acid attack survivors.

Women Empowerment

The foundation focuses on empowering women by providing legal awareness, counseling, and aid to victims of domestic violence and abuse. They also offer rehabilitation programs through vocational training in areas such as computer applications, beauty culture, and cutting & tailoring.

Child Rights

The Laxmi Foundation advocates for the rights of children, working towards ensuring their safety, well-being, and access to education. They may undertake initiatives to combat child labor, child marriage, and other forms of exploitation.

Environment Project

The foundation also engages in environmental projects aimed at promoting sustainability, conservation, and raising awareness about environmental issues.

Mental Health

The Laxmi Foundation plays a key role in providing comprehensive mental health support for acid attack victims. They offer specialized counseling services, support groups, and holistic healing practices like art therapy and yoga to help victims navigate trauma and promote emotional healing and overall well-being. The foundation aims to build resilience, boost self-esteem, and create a supportive community for victims to share their experiences and find empowerment.

They believe in fully respecting the inherent autonomy and dignity of each person and working towards the realization of human rights for all, without any form of discrimination.
